i wouldn't buy a s/h engine without costing in a rebuild. if you are gonna have the engine out you may as well tear it apart, check bore wear, piston, piston rings and crank condition, and replacing bearings doesn't cost much either and so forth. as its a G60 engine i'd use VAG parts only unless they are unavailable.

I know I'm terrible, my wife is tearing her hair out,. I did the same thing when i brought the camaro. i cant help thinking i should
have payed the extra and searched for a G60 rallye, cant stop thinking about them :rolleyes:. I'm going to get myself down the
doctors and see if he can prescribe me anything for golfitus

if you wanted to appear practical you should have gone for that g60 limited that was ebay the other day, 5 doors are practical, supercharged 16 valve and over 200bhp from the factory is even better!! :wink:
