Title: Newbie question: best way to fit door rub strips?
Post by: Bakedbean100 on 03 May 2011, 19:49
Hiya guys,
Just bought my first gti (90 spec 8v). Liking it alot so far!
It is currently missing the door strip on the front door, the little white grommet bits are still in the door and i have the strip.

Am i right in thinking that i need to remove the door card to remove the grommets and fit it properly? or can i angle it and slide it onto the grommets?

Sorry for the stupid question!

the little white bits pull out. Get some pliars on them. They should twist fit back into the rub strip and then you just push the strip back on.

no need to remove door card unless the rubber bungs get pushed inside
