Nice looking car, although if it's spent all it's life in WSM i'd have a good poke around underneath.

Been trying to talk to the guy over the price but it seems he's quite intent on keeping it - strange hey ho.....

I don't think he thinks I'm serious - can't blame him I mean I'm only a moderator on the best gti forum going

Here's how the conversation went:

ME:

Dear tud555,

Hi, sorry to ask but do you have a buy it now price please? Cheers CJM

HIM:

HELLO sorry no, thanks for the interest.

ME:

Thank you, may I ask how much the reserve is set at? Kind regards Craig

HIM:

HELLO reluctant to say as it is an auction, the reserve is my safety net my wife wants to sell i'am very happy to keep her. regards john

ME:

Best of luck with the "sale" although it sounds like you don't really want to sell, revealing the reserve is neither one thing or the other really, just helps serious buyers such as myself work out if your price is reasonable or unreasonable. Take care Craig

HIM:

IF your a serious buyer and your fairly close pop round and and make up your own mind, will sell but has to be the right price i believe these cars will be a future classic.regards john

ME:

I'm not close I'm over 200 miles away hence the qualifing questions, please take a look on the thread below

http://www.golfgtiforum.co.uk/index.php?topic=191558.10

May convince you that I am very serious - I'm "the doc" by the way.....

HIM:

i'll take your word that your serious, the golf will be sold to the highest bidder,if it does not sell i'll store it for 10/12 years,.no probs thanks for your interest

Does seem reluctant to sell. Although that is a lot of money for the car. I know they are rare, but still.

maybe hes listing it just to keep the mrs happy and a high reserve with no real expectation to sell? then he can say he tried but it didnt sell

No can do

I just want a mk3 valver

The golf 130PD needs to a be:

A. A golf
B. look as sh1t as possible, trying for Jewish racing gold, then I'll be spending more on the engine than the car cost, hence I want one with the 130 motor.

All in the name of fun of course
