Hi,
I recently bought my gt tdi. The previous owner had a tow bar fitted.

This tow bar to be more specific. I will never have any use for it and so would like to remove it, however I have no idea where to start, apart from bumper removal. Which is what I need some help with...
Thanks

alright m8 i removed one as u said remove the bumper once in i just cut the cables and atuo guy later made sure they were dead but it was a simple bolt out job from where i think the rear crash bar was i could be wrong but it was just two large bolts one on each leg then slide it out the legs on the tow bar are roughly 400mm long so they go in quite a bit into the frame. oh and u may need some wd. it was just a try and do it job rather than i went on any info lol so dont blame me if u end up with a grinder and a big hammer lol

Managed to find a really good guide on how to remove your rear bumper online, and removed my towbar this afternoon...

Wicked guide with pictures! Then the towbar, wasn't too bad, took about 2 hours on my own!
Hope this helps anyone with a similar problem!
