Not really as the majority of Mac users are new to the system and have heard it is not prone to the attacks like Windows and therefore are in the mindset that they are completely safe.

Also the majority of Mac users tend not to be technically minded and therefore have no bloody clue.

The weakness is Safari.

Safari and a numpty end user is a dangerous combination.

Any OS + numpty = FAIL

Chrome is now under attack too, not through exploits but user social engineering by faking the Chrome security page and telling the user to install Chrome's new security patch ....

Yup I can see shed load of mac users who have been hit by apples reality distortion field being victims of malware in the future. So many celebrities and wealthy people are using macs and they are under the impression that they are safe. Install some kind of anti virus on osx and be sensible on where you go on the internet

Who the f@ck programs their web browser to AUTO RUN 'safe' files you've downloaded?! oh yeah Apple  Crazyness! I can see that 'feature' being removed or disabled by default fairly quickly.

I can't believe Apple think this will be the last of it and creating a 'patch' for this one variant is actually going to solve things
