Title: If it aint one thing it be another.Drivers exterior door handle not workin

 :angry:Help once again is required people.

Drivers door on 3dr 1989 gti golf.The exterior door handle has just gone limp as if theres no pressure behind it. so cant open door from outside.central lock9ing workin fine.
Checked inside looks as if connection between handle and lock/catch is worn but not sure..........does this sound right if so is it griefy work and expensive....

take it off and have a look its only two screws. one behind the little plastic strip on the handle and one on the side of the door above the striker plate

ill bet the handle has broke. they always do. £10 for replacemnt from German Swedish or Eurocarparts
