Ok this has been covered before many many times however for the last three fill ups (full tank) the computer has been telling me that I can do 420 miles. In reality i have been getting nearly 400 miles out of a full tank. This is weird as this has only started to happen. Before I would get around 360 miles before I had to fill up.
Maybe it's because the engine is loosening up or something. Not sure but I ain't complaining.
Usage is a mix of around 3/4 town and 1/4 motorway

i filled up today, and it said 280 miles left.
i do drive like a loon

I get about 320-330 miles a tank on average, best ive ever got was 350. I only do short journeys most of the time though so im quite happy with that. Im averaging 28.8 mpg, which is better than I was getting in my old Civic Type R. Only got about 270 miles to the tank in that and I was doing longer journeys back then too!

400 miles from a full tank with 3/4 town driving? You're doing well to be honest  Is the town driving stop/start traffic or general pottering about?
At the moment I'm getting a bit over 500 miles per ~50 litre fill up which works out at ~45mpg. That's with a mix of 1/4 city traffic driving and 3/4 motorway cruising. According to the trip computer I'mg etting 50mpg average but I never see it really. I was getting ~40 real world mpg before when my daily drive was 1/2 motorway cruising and 1/2 heavy stop/start traffic. Trip computer said I was getting ~45mpg but again I never really saw it. This is all with pretty steady driving, strictly to the speed limits, only overtaking to maintain a constant speed, etc.
Looks like I'd spend as much on petrol in a GTI as I do in my 1.4

After a £78 fill up on Shell V Power on Saturday morning I have done 310 miles and the computer reckons it will do a further 85 miles before refueling.
The majority of the 310 has been spent on the motorway with some town stuff too!!!
So overall about 400 miles to the tank is ok.
I was a little bored a week before that so did a little experiement between super and normal unleaded. Put £40 in both times and got around 30 more miles out of the V Power and with V Power the engine seemed to run smother too!!

I'm going to drive like a ba5tard on my next tank, won't be until at least week Monday though as I've still got to ram my final fill up data down soft lads throat and I've not even used half a tank yet on my special 70-mpg-a-thon

Worst was 108 miles a tank........on the Nurburgring

I get around 260 through normal driving around town on fairly short trips. New job from next week sees my commute go from 2 miles of 30mph to 40 miles of A road. Hoping to get closer to 400 miles. If not I'm going to swap with my girlfriend & use her Yaris for work. She has no appreciation of cars though :undecided:
-
Two examples:
- 200 motorway miles + A-roads = 374 miles from 41 litres (40.87mpg)
- Normal driving A-roads + bit of motorway + very little town = 404 miles from 49 litres (37.41mpg)

Sure was, you'll see 700 miles which is two weeks to work and back for me
It's getting the shizat kicked out of it this week though

Yeah, not sure if the 2.0T petrol engine is capable of such feats but if it is I would love to know how.

My mpg shot up to 45 after a couple days of steady driving! Seems to have levelled out a bit now at 31 mpg. Pretty chuffed with that considering I only do 20 miles a day to work and back.
