Title: Massive gap between strut top and mount cap
Post by: marky-gee on 30 April 2011, 16:12
ive recently fitted new coilovers to my mk3 and ive noticed today that on the front the top caps are sitting above the actual strut turret on the body, surely the top cap should tighten down into the turret and create a tight seal?

No you should have a gap between 5-10mm i do believe.
Im guessing you fitted new top mounts while you were at it?

you need the gap because they move when you steer, if you turn the wheel on the spot and watch them youll see.
