Title: My New Toy
Post by: chrisr103 on 30 April 2011, 09:43
A few months ago I decided I was going to buy a Transit flat bed Recovery truck, My plans were to buy cars from Auctions to trade on, Also buy the odd scrap car & weigh them in,

I decided that if after a couple of months I could make it work then I would hand my notice in at work & do it full time.

Anyway this is what I bought

Its a P reg non turbo model, Only covered 81000 genuine miles, Mint with no rot at all.

Had it since Feb this year, Since I had it the truck has earnt me back what I paid for it (Only using it part time) So I handed my notice in & left work on the 29th April.

I decided I needed a newer truck so sold the transit yesterday & went & picked this one up

Yeah there is money to be made doing it, For A local collection & drop off most places charge about £40.

There is a few lille things I need to do to it mainly give the sides of the body a coat of red paint & then some black Hammerite on the bed, Get some reflective stickers down the side of the body & then have my number put on the side of it

Yeah it going in on Wednesday to have "LC" put above the bit where it says "Recovery Services" then my number underneath.

Been outside most of the afternoon tidying it up with a bit of "Post Box Red" paint on the side of the body, Tempted to paint the actual flat bed bit in Black Hammerite over the weekend.

Also fitted my Parrot hands free kit to it

Dan's car does more miles on the back of a recovery truck than it does on the road.

I think he's getting friendly with his local movers!
