Title: Phone Kit
Post by: Damo66 on 29 April 2011, 22:07
Hi

I need a couple of questions answered. I have just purchased a GTD with Sat Nav and upgraded stereo. It has the black roof ariel which I had on my Golf 'R' but no phone kit, can the phone kit be added.

Also any idea where I could source door sill protectors. Oh and I sold the 'R' because I got an offer I couldn't refuse in these current times. Cars doing 25mpg are getting hard to shift.

Thanks

Damo

I bought used 800 miles on it then 400 miles to drive it home.  48mpg on the run home. I am sure I could get better but I was in a hurry.

Pm Darren (mortygt140) mate, he supplied and fitted my bluetooth, mines a 3C8 version which was the latest release by VW at the time, he's supplied a lot of kits to members on here.
You need ten posts to send a pm though, alternatively go to the sales/group buys section.

Welcome. At least and at last you've got a bigger boot.

As Jimble suggested  PM/e-mail mortygt140: Darren Mortimer: darren.mortimer@ntlworld.com. He fitted my RNS510 and Bluetooth kit. Works brilliantly.

For a re-map you should go to The Doc: http://www.carbon-chiptuning.co.uk/. He has chipped his own GTD.

**I presume (educated guess) you are damian.mcafee from the R forum and you are in Northern Ireland.
In that case, you should get in touch with mike. who is also in Northern Ireland. He is very knowledgeable and can help you out. Great guy.

Thats seems a strange mileage 800 either the first stupid owner bought the wrong car or it wasn't as good as he thought after driving it for 800 miles.

Fuel con is a sore point with these, the MFD will show a higher mpg but the only true average is tank it, use the tank and tank it again the calculate.

If you were doing a 400 mile trip back from the dealer then it would be hot all the time, short runing makes it drop.

The black roof ariel is for the the sat nav the phone kit you have to buy as another extra I think?
