Title: VR6 Splitter
Post by: scooby7161 on 29 April 2011, 20:52
Can anyone tell me where to get a good quality VR6 splitter from. Tried most of the after market ones and they keep breaking ( car is very low ).

How easy is it to fit splitter from other car makes and what looks good?

Any help appreciated.

Thanks

Yup i'm running one of these and reckon it's more durable than the Eurowagens one I had before. The other alternative is to wack a standard Gti one on to give you a little more clearance

All the aftermarket ones vary in quality, they tend to use a whole host of different re grind base material and chuck some fresh black masterbatch in to colour it.
Also the trade shops who mould them are not interested in flow marks or moulded in stress they just make sure they are not shorts.
Hence the price.

Do VW still sell them? if so they are more likley to be good quality mouldings and better value.
Maybe one of the moulders could be persueded to mould a batch of PP or PE ones for a group buy....

I bought two genuine vr6 splitters from ebay and I missed another two. Forgot about them.
I was watching four genuine vr6 splitters at same time. Not as rare as you may think.
I paid £23, and £13. The ones I forgot went for £4, and £9 lol
