Title: mk2 uprated exhaust hangers
Post by: jcth1 on 29 April 2011, 16:28
i want to fit some powerflex exhaust hangers to my mk2 gti. The car has rings on it at the moment but i was wondering if i could fit some better rubbers from the powerflex range but didnt want to purchase to find out they wont work.

What has people used if your've uprated to poly hangers?

I would imagine that poly (solid) exhaust hangers would put strain on the joints as they would no longer allow flex. Just a thought but happy to be told otherwise.

Not sure if VW still do the upgraded rubbers (metal chain inside).  The problem with poly hangers is you will feel the exhaust vibrating through the car.
