Title: possible polishing problem? noob question

i was giving the new car a clean the other day started to polish it but as i was doing so i looked at the pad and it was almost like it was stripping the paint and the pad was turning red. is this normal or do i have a problem with me paint owrk?

yes this is normal if your car doesnt have a clearcoat, non laquered finishes will oxyidise over time if not protected from the elements, uv damage will bleach the colour out also, once you have fully removed the oxydation make sure you seal the paint then wax it to stop from happening in the future, you'll need to keep on top of this every 6/12 months depending on what sealant you use etc etc.
