Title: Tie rod ball joint removal.

Hoping someone can help.. :sad:

Got a ball joint splitter  i`m hammering the crap out of it but the ball joint wont split..

Any ideas will i need a big hammer help..

If the splitter isn't working hit the actual hub on the part whete the tierod bolt passes through, not the stud or the balljoint part. That will shock it free then.

They normally press in and out. (machine press) I would say get a bigger hammer lol

How the f**k do you get that lot anywhere near a hydraulic press? :rolleyes:

Also, what kind of splitter are yoi using? The hammer in drift type or the type that goes round the joint and presses it out with a large bolt underneath?

Bit of a update.

Tapping the hub worked.. :laugh:

just got to do the tracking,Thanks for the help much appreciated  :smiley:
