Title: Problem with the fitment of my Monza's 18"

Hello,
I have recently purchased a mk5 gti (2006) with what i thought were original monza alloys. However, I visited vw today after having a new tyre and was told they are not original wheels. The difficulty is the alloy does not seem to fit on the hub properly. It looks like it needs some kind of spacer (?)  to ensure correct allignmemnt prior to tightening the wheel  nuts. The problem is I cannot see what make they are  and so am somewhat flumoxed as to what to do next. I have really bad wheel wobble at certain speeds but the tyres are all balanced. The difficulty arises  from not being able to sit the wheels on the hub prior to tightening the nuts. Please HELP!!!!!

Hmm, you have a bit of a problem. I'll assume you mean that the centre bore hole in the middle of the wheel is bigger than the hub spigot that sticks out of the wheel hub (the lumpy bit that the wheel locates on).
Is this just one wheel or all four? I'm guessing it's all four.
Easy enough to sort out anyway. Measure very accurately the diameter of the hole in the middle of the wheel. Then go on ebay and search for spigot rings. The correct hub fitment of Golf alloys are 57.1mm. So you need to search ebay for spigot rings that have the outer diameter of what your wheels centre bore hole are (say for arguments sake 66mm) and there you have the correct size you need to order (using the example of 66-57.1mm).
Ideally I'd say try and find a set in a local wheel specialist who have spigot rings in stock as you need to sort this quite quickly and most ebay sellers won't be able to get them to you before the middle of next week.
I hope you can make sense of the above as it was typed at 5 AM and I'm tired.

Anyway, DON'T drive the car very far like it is at the moment. The only things supporting the weight of the car right now are the wheel bolts and they are likely to snap. Be careful and get it sorted very quickly as your insurance won't like you very much if you have an accident with the current set up failing.......
