Title: paint cade dosnt match the car but i kno tht the colour is tht storm grey......

rite fellas............ i got my mk3 1.4 and i checked the paint code in the boot but it does not match up wen i have to get it mixxed
is it the people who are mixing the colour or is it tht the car has been resprayed

my colour code in the boot says LK7Y

?????????????????????????

It could well be down to incompetant staff at the  shop or like you say the car may have been sprayed at some point.

Metallic storm grey is definitely LK7Y as it's what ive got on my vehicle. There was another grey tone used on Golfs which was  called 'pearl grey' and is quite similar but slightly creamier but the code for that is LA7U. Maybe you've got that by mistake?
