Title: Nice simple question for someone :)
Post by: Barnzyuk on 26 April 2011, 14:52
Hi All,

I am curently going through the process of converting my mk2 to run an 02a box. One little thing i'm not sure about is where does the mechanism that causes the gearstick to bounce up to stop you engaging reverse go, presumably there is a spring on the shaft where there is a small notch cut out?

I have a corrado cable shifter, but it doesn't spring up like you would expect.

Is it not on the bottom of the gearstick mate???

Not as far as I am aware, but I'm not sure. I thought it was something on the shaft as I appear to be missing a few bits from the shaft (highlighted components in diagram below I don't have) when compared to the ETKA Diagram so assumed it was one of these bits I needed.

that pic is from the tower in the engien bay, the reverse lockout mech is all on the stick itself. there should be a spring on the shaft somewhere

Ah that makes sense, I misinterpreted the diagram. I don't have a spring on my shaft, so will try and source one. thanks for your help!
