My doors don't seem to close how they should and need a bit of persuasion nowdays. Think they have dropped. I've been told they can be bent back somehow, anyone know how?

I think you just need to replace the hinges on them , but not 100% sure
-
My drivers door was the same.
You need to get a new hinge pin and inner hinge. Bodyshop have just replaced mine.
-
someone was saying you stick a wheel bolt between the door and the hinge. then force the door closed and this should raise the door.
bolt on bottom hinge...door goes up
bolt on top hinge...door drops
-
^^ how does that work? where do stick the wheel bolt and how does this move the hinge around?
-
to be honest with you i would try adjusting the striker bolt that is on the door frame. if you door is for example dropped and not flush (eg sticking out) with the surrounding bodywork then move the bolt up and back it undoes with a spanner, prob 10mm knowing vw  try that first
-
mine has dropped a bit but as the striker is in the right place, it hits the striker and moves up into place. so if i move the striker it'll pull my door out of line. does that make sense?
-
mind you it doesn't take 2 mins to take a door off so i should stop being so lazy and get a new hinge!
-
yes the wheel bolt thing does work, have done it on both my 16v's
all i would say is dont use a lot of force when closing the door with the bolt in the hinge, just do it a bit at a time and you will see the door gradually rise
