Title: thoughts please.....

any suggestions welcome...


just had the auld bus out for a good run....approx 130 miles..
travelling at approx 70 miles per hour..no problems.

stopped at the local take away van for a coffee, and went to start the car...
usually starts no probs, idles lovely,and runs sweet..
this time it farted into life for a second or so,second attemt the same ( sort of started but
stalled ) third time gave it a bit o juice .....started but felt lumpy and if it was on 3 cylinders..
when running for a few seconds and a few revs later all ok...
stopped again 10 mins later and same thing again.( never had any probs like this )

1990 mk2 golf gti..digi..pb engine code.

any thoughts guys...?

failing fuel pump perhaps. Mine did something similar when fuel level was low, as the lift pump in the tank was on the way out. About £30 for a new pump fixed it, easy enough to change. Would give no issues with a nearly full tank as the pump was doing less work.

Or it may be something completely different!
