As per norm from me may sound like a stupid question but thought id check
just in the process of ordering some new brake pads, have noticed that on different brands the dimensions are different along with the OE system? will this affect the pads fitting or working correctly
on some its says: OE System :Lucas Dimensions: H:69.5;W:119;T:16
and on the other : OE System:Volkswagen Dimensions:H:49;H1:51.3;W:137.9;T:15.3
i'm assuming just stick to the OE vw ones
and i'm also going ot buy some new calipers as well from Vee w services the mk3 calipers ive been told are just a straight swap for the mk2 ones? I know when i had the car checked a while ago the mech said one of the pistons wasn't working right
the plan is for Friday with some help form my mate Ian is to replace the rear: discs, pads, calipers and do the handbrake as well

for me that 20mm difference is that between 6v and 16v brakes ??
-
well this is the thing that always gets me in a muddle
I put my reg number in and it brings up pads for 1.8 16v gti 1983 -1992 so i have no idea why there is a difference in size as said im just going to go with the VW OE ones
-
yer stick with OE sizes mate cant go wrong then

Just go GSF and get some Pagid rear pads. Thats what I did, plus Brembo discs.
