Title: I de-arched today

After all the rust stories I've bean reading I thought Id better start checking  :huh:

Good news so far though  :smiley:

Side skirts and door trim next then touch in scratches and get the polisher out while it's all off.

how clean is that! im way to scared to look behind my trims ,cause if its got rot it will bug the hell out of me until it was sorted, does look good though mate :smiley:

Dont think so bud but a might trim arches before they go back on, ready for spacers or new rims and coilovers.

If I cud I'd leave them off! I'm doin mine sometime this week.... Aint got a good feeling about it tho cos iv seen some rust patches on the inner arch already...

I took mine off had a minor bit of surface on one rear wheel arch which ive treated.Thing I found with mine when I took them off was the arch left like a line which wouldnt polish out but im not into the cl look anyway so they went back on yours looks tidy though  :wink:

I've got to take my sill covers off for to do some welding on the sills, i will take the arches off aswell while i'm at it
All mine will going back on, with mine being a 5 door it would defo look like a cl :grin:

Spot on, much cleaner without them plus gets rid of the water traps etc.

Ok, Im seriously considering it, how do you get them off? I did it once before but think I remeber breaking most parts  :laugh:

Arches are pop riveted on, just drill them out.

I did Dan but im turning to it  :grin: but there defo going back on.

I took skirts off tonight not so good  :sad: passenger side sill is not the best and i have a hole in the floor on the drivers side next to the sill but its not under the carpet inside :huh:

Also have a hole under the door rubber on the passenger side and its starting on the drivers side too.

i can get a welder also i have a buddy who is a welder so not a big problem but i didnt want to do any bodywork till i had it how i wanted. better get some homers done to pay for it now :sad:

Na mate there going back on after its all welded up and arches trimmed. Going to paint them black though cause I hate trying to keep them looking good.

Getting a quote at the weekend for painting whole car will wait an see how much before I decide what to do as there is a slight score on 2 arches.
