Just got a master cylinder for my mk2 golf gti 16v. On the body it says 20, on the box it says 22.5mm, my old had 22 stamped it. Can I measure my new one anyway, or could a different m/c of been packaged in the wrong box.
Quick answer needed, gsf shut at 2! It looks the same size as the old one, but guessing the inside which is 22 or 20mm

if it has 20mm stamped on it it's 20mm

Yer they said early 16vs came with 20mm m/c ? I thought they all came with 22mm, swapped it over anyway. Nothings even coming out of the rear calliper now though, think it may be jammed, I can suck through the bit of piping and just a tiny bit of fluid comes out, my tyre is probably over the recommended 20psi as well.

have you clamped the bias valve open? if not it will restrict the flow of brake fluid
