Title: coilover top mount question MK3
Post by: marky-gee on 22 April 2011, 20:38
when fitting coilovers is the order of fitting

1. strut

2. springs over strut

3. top cup

4 bearing

5. mount

6 nut

Im asking as i'm unsure of 4-5-6 does the rubber mount sit between the nut and bearing or does the rubber mount sit on top ? as ive tried both ways nut on last seems really tight and rubber mount on last seems wrong

I`m confused also tbh.

On that guide in the maintenance section someone was saying that the shoulder nut goes on the spring plate and the bearing goes on top of the shoulder nut confused tbh..

From the amount of times ive rebuilt the front end of my car recently  Been putting on polybushes etc..

If you stand the shock body on its ass, ie the way the shock lives in the car..

TOP OF SHOCK

6. Nut
5. Mount
4. Bearing
3. Top Cup, (mines blue)
2. Spring over strut
1. strut

BOTTOM OF SHOCK
Hope thats of some help..
