Title: Best place to buy MAF sensor.
Post by: Mark Thomas on 22 March 2005, 23:39
Hi peeps, just got my new S Reg Golf GTI. Has 60,000 Miles on the clockl with full service history. Has a problem with power loss when the car warms up. From what I've read on the forum I guess it's the MAF sensor. All I really want to know is the best  place to buy one. I have heard they can be part exchanged in at VW or they can be bought cheaper at VW specialists. I don't really want to pay over £100 and I can fit it myself.

Any help very much appreciated.

I think VW dealerships now sell reconditioned ones for about £70.  Not too sure though if they do though - anyone please correct me if I'm wrong.

Try giving Stuart a ring (see below). He's very helpful.

Drive to your dealer, open the bonnet in the carpark, unclip the MAF housing, and go in and exchange it for a new unit for £75
