Title: 2.0 driver ????
Post by: wurth on 21 April 2011, 21:02
Is it possible to swap a golf driver 1.6 driver to 9a ?

Ive currently got a 1.6 driver, with weber, PB head, and performance exhaust.

Ive also got a clean 9A bottom end ;), thing im wondering is if i up jet the weber accordingly, can i wip the 9a on, and swap all the driver bits over ?

Yes and the weber carb should cope all ok.

When I worked for TSR we built a lot of 1.9 or 2.0 engines with the weber carb.

Was that the 1.8 carb/jets ?  and you used the 9a or similar mk3 2.0 bottom end ?

dosen't really matter what carb you put on it as  it won't exactly work very well

9A is a 16v block  the 8v GTI head will fit just won't work k
