im getting this terrible squeak noise from the front right hand side wheel, every time i accelerate turn a corner or just general driving, breaking it wont make the noise at all, it started to get loader, and loader, which is doing my head in, so much it turns heads when driving!
anyone got any ideas before i start stripping the whole right hand side or twitting it with hammer! as god its starting to make me not want to drive it!

thats what me old man says, any danger or running it before replacing it soon, if it is that!
-
if it stops when ya braking probable some thing rubbing on the disc. probably a bit of road rubble or dust. give it a clean and get a wire brush and some brake cleaner on it. not likely to be a wheel bearing though cause it doesnt do it when your braking.

my old golf had a similar noise and new brakes and bearings didn't solve it!
Try a bearing first and when fitting check you need to press the bearing onto the hub if it's not tight your best to buy a hub a.s.a.p as the new bearing will last weeks!

Wheel Hub (Right Hand) Part No.: 629440031 £23.94 -euro car parts!
bearing about 6 pound!
still reading haynes looks like a fatherless son of a job if it is that! :(

also check the cv joint check if any splits in cv gaiter as if any sh!te gets in there it can fook them up

It's not that difficult but you will need a press of some nature to install the new wheel bearing. If you can't get access to one take the hub and bearing to your local garage and get them to squeeze it in for a drink.

check the bearing first by jacking the car up and giving the wheel a good play about, use a pry bar to check for and movement from the ball joints etc aswell. might become clearer after this if it isnt the bearing.

Mine does this but only when turning right. I literally had the mot yesterday and all my bearings are ok. Had new one 6 months ago. Drives u mad, I'm gonna strip the wheel and have a look. Maybe something bent or needs greasing up
-
when my hub went the bearing had being done 3 months before (and it did need pressing in) and the wheel had no play. It only became apparent when we stripped the hub off and saw the score marks on the inside that it was the hub that was worn out

Just when driving? Tried bouncing the front of the car hard whilst stationary?
