I have a vr6 which is pretty much euro look. It needs some work and tiding up. Basically I want to sort the rear bumper out, it's already been fully smoothed and colour coded. I want to hide the exhaust and smooth the rear valance, deleting the exhaust cut out.
Now this got me thinking for a new back box  I love the sound of the vr6 and I like it loud, really loud. So why not a bike can? it's small and easy to hide plus it will give a great sound. What are your thoughts on this? is there a bike can big enough?
-
Would sound good, if you can't buy one off the shelf powerflow would prob do it
-
Barryboys is that way ---->
Why ruin (I can't beleive i'm about to say this) a perfectly good looking subtle mk3 with a tin can?
-
Good luck flowing nearly 3 liters through a bike can!

Bike cans do not work on cars.

you can hide a standard exhaust behind the bumper anyway

Well he did say it wanted to hide them... I sure he wouldn't want it to look like:

You don't need four to look daft, odd placed bike can on polo bread van.

Tweed, you say you want it loud, how about just deleting the rear silence altogether and just pipe it?
-
know someone who put a bike can on a crx, sounded the dogs danglies, i've got a decat straight through into a cherry bomb :undecided: it's fecking loud!

sums up mk3 owners i thought

Thought bike can because they are small. Found some 57mm bore too. It's not like I want to show it.
Hey I've got a 8v that is totally standard and I would never change a thing on it, apart from height and wheels. So why can't I have a vr6 the way I want it? It's not a daily driver!
Yeah I might just do away with the rear box. I'l get a mddle section made up with a big silencer, so it's not all loud, but on the show days I can take it straight back out

Agreed, get powerflow to fit one that bends downwards, or just buy a diesel one and get rid of the insides/baffles etc

TVR Tuscan. As for getting one to flow enough, not really a problem when you look at the volume of air escaping a decent modern thou at 13+K RPM, as long as the bore isnt smaller than the existing it wont be a problem at all.

TVR Tuscan.
They look like bike cans but are not, they were specially designed.

Surely a diesel box won't be same bore as vr6?
All I want is something easily hidden and doesn't restrict noise.
Think I'll just go powerflow and get something made up with a small silencer
Cheers for all the comments and sarcasm  we all like a laugh

Honestly, TDi style pipes are your best bet.
Would be sweet.

Can kind of see them in there...
The hatchback backbox would be a good bet, just get it from the middle box backwards.
-
But surely that will restrict air flow. a 4 cylinder 2.0 diesel will have a smaller bore than a 6 cylinder 2.8 petrol

Go down powerflow tell them what you want and theyll make it for you, my local powerflow dealer is qaulity, highly recommended. See if you can get some feedback on your local dealers

Yeah think that's best idea. I've already had stainless straight through pipe made for £80 and it is a good quality

That's my next buy, get rid of that monstrous mid box
