Bare in mind mk3's run skinny back boxes if you've got a chunky one will be a struggle to get fitted properly, my back box was universal fit and was a right pig to get fitted.

You can and will struggle with space.

Space is a issue and also dunno if 8v's are the same as 16v but the angle at which the mid box pipe comes up to the back box is pretty awkward aswell

Sorry didn't completely read your last post yea hanging is one off the issues it'll hang to low unless you have it up against the spare wheel well

with regard to space, is it ok to remove the heat sheild from between the backbox and the spare wheel well and fuel tank to make fitting easier as this would mean i can add a hanger to make my ill fitting uni box a better fitting uni box, or is it likely to explode on long journeys? :P

I personaly would not feel safe in a car with exhaust against fuel tank with no heat shield.

I left my heat shield on and the exhaust is right up against it, onlyproblem with that it rattles and knocks ocassionly. It's only against the spare wheel well no the fuel tank
