Title: Odd DSG behaviour in auto mode
Post by: snakehips on 20 April 2011, 18:11
Hi All,
Driving my DSG in auto mode, I often use the paddle to force a shift down for a quick boost. After a few seconds of no more gear changes the gearbox reverts back to auto, and displays as such on the highline. Except not now. This week it has been staying in manual mode whenever I hit a paddle, even though the stick is in auto. Ever seen this before? Any advice?
I'm embroiled in an argument with VW anyway because I say the gearbox is acting jumpy especially at low revs and they say there is nothing wrong.

That doesn't sound like it is right at all. Definitely something amiss there!

Not my imagination is it? It should revert back to auto.
They've got it back in next week to see if there's anything wrong with the gearbox oil so I'll get them to look at that too.

Yes, the gearbox should definitely revert back to auto in both D and S modes after less than a minute - if you don't touch the controls again.
