got a problem folks, finally got my mk2 16v on the road and am using it as an every day car however its drinking fuel at a hell of a rate,i think i got about 300 miles to a full tank of petrol, anyway it runs rich and splutters on idle when cold,i beleive theres 4 screws for each fuel line to the injectors, can these be adjusted ?iv got use of a mot gas/smoke tester to check emmisions can anyone tell me the readings i should be getting ?also just to throw the cat amongst the pidgeons is im not sure if its been cammed and hasnt been set up properly, any help much appreciated as its making me want to get rid of it as its too expensive on fuel
cheers chris

they are a pain to set up and do very rarely idle smooth - they are very quirky things
mines doing about 300 miles to a tank too so don't worry too much (that's with lots of hard driving)
There is a guide on here if you do a search. The mixture adjustment is burried in between the fuel pipes and large outlet on top of
the airbox. You need to unpluf the spade connector from coil and set idel to approx 1000 revs on throttle body
Then adjust the mixture up and down until you get best compromise.
To far one way it will cut out too far the other it will over compensate and hunt

2% is ideal - think mine scraped through last year at 3.5%
i've done a few fixes since then.......so fingers crossed this year will be better.
