Howdo all
The new lupo has a slight rattle when the clutch is engaged but goes with it disengaged...?
I'm thinking to bearing and rod maybe??
Is it the same as the mk3? Or more involved?
Or any ideas as to the cause?
Cheers peeps!!
-
anyone?
-
I can't help you mate but if you ask over on peak VAG there's a few lupo peeps on there that could help :afro:
-
Plan!
Not been on there in ages either!!
Not sure if I'll end up back in the high peak at some point ;)
-
Nice one, might even get you to some of the meets then
-
Hopefully lol
Life hasn't been kind to me meet and show wise :(
-
Thrust bearing? :undecided:
-
Thats what I think!
But don't know whether I can replace with the box in situ or not :(
-
What year is the lupo and what engine?
I think its a box out job.
-
99/00 one of the 2 lol
1.4 16v, the worst for gearbox lol
Annoyin thing is it's had a recon box on :(
-
There are 2 1.4 16v engines listed ANM and AFK for years 1999 and 2000.
Both require you to remove the gearbox to change the release bearing.
-
Well that's crap lol
Cheers though mate, appreciate that!
How quick do ya reckon I need to do it?
-
Hard to say without looking at it. How loud is the noise?
It could last a week or a year
-
Bollox lol
Recon box a year ago too, put me off the scent :(
Quite loud lol, Lou enough I have the clutch down as much as poss lol
-
and when the box is out, split it and check the bearing on the end of the pinion shaft they eat them
-
Not too bothered about taking the box off but may be pushing my luck playing around inside it lol
Are these hydraulic clutches too?
Haynes manual needed I think :D
-
If its like the polo, its a cable clutch.
-
Fingers crossed
Will have a look at weekend if it still lives :D
