Title: GTI 2L 8v 1996...flat spot, please help.
Post by: deano968 on 21 March 2005, 21:43
Hi, i recently purchased a Golf GTI 2L 8v 1996, problem is i have a flat spot on it, if the car is stationary and i accelerate sharply the engine dies for a second or so before increasing the revs. When driving sometimes a slight judder can be felt especially at low revs in a high gear, also (but not very often) when at tickover the revs will drop slightly then pick back up to the normal 800 rpm. It looks as though the car has recently had new plugs and leads and a new coil. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated, many thanks.
