So got this car for £150 roughly 2 years ago with a knackered clutch and as standard as they come

The wheels had some kurbing and water damage so decided to spray them black and whilst doing that did badges and fog blanks black also

The ride height was really bugging me so ordered some jamex coilovers which turned out to be a family job lol

After got ride height how i liked it decided to change wheel colour again for something a bit marmite

I liked those yellow wheels. Looking good for a tug lad. Keep up the work!
-
Love it, very fresh and a cheap car.
Looked better on the Yellow wheels than the pepperpots.

^ yeah looking back at those photos i do rather still like them, they're at back of my shed at min along with a set of 17" rx11's that im thinking of putting on when engine bay sorted, just not sure i wanna run 17's on this car?

Why not, I ran 17"s on a mk3 all ok.

Car is looking really clean. Like the look of it on the pepper pots... Perhaps they need painting yellow...
-
Yeah i guess thats an option, thinking of doin engine bay cream so ill have a think about it
-
ok so over last few days got engine totally out
(http://i871.photobucket.com/albums/ab273/kirkgti/IMG_0183.jpg)
and ordered every bush, seal, gasket and bolt i could think of to make this engine look like new and also to stop leaks like this....
ive also ordered some hoses from vw to fix things like this.....
but at £45 for just that pipe it aint cheap lol
-
also just about stripped everything of the engine so can do cambelt, steering belt and give engine a real good clean and lick of paint
(http://i871.photobucket.com/albums/ab273/kirkgti/IMG_0186.jpg)
-
Great work :afro:
It'll be like a new car when your done
-
ok so had a few tins of cream paint left so decided i'd paint the bay whilst engines out
(http://i871.photobucket.com/albums/ab273/kirkgti/IMG_0205.jpg)
painted up the subframe and changes all the bushes, balljoints etc
(http://i871.photobucket.com/albums/ab273/kirkgti/IMG_0188.jpg)
and for the last week been attacking the engine, started with Gunk then spent a day sanding it down by hand, got all the grease off, which was really bad on the backside due to the driveshaft leaking.
Then gave it a go over with thinners to get last of grime off, and gave it a good few coats of enamel engine paint. Seems very bright though not sure i like it lol
(http://i871.photobucket.com/albums/ab273/kirkgti/IMG_0201.jpg)
sump will be coming off when engines in for a new gasket and a good clean and spray
-
also found an old photo of the rx2's ive got, not sure if i like them as they look a bit big?

Top marks on getting that engine looking so presentable. Anyone who hadn't read this would think it's just been fully reconditioned.
