Where did you get the carbon wrap from ?
-
You can buy it on eBay / the Internet look for 3M Di-noc
I did Mrs Doc's 1 series dash trims in it - no moaning about my sandals lol
Took around 3 hours - removing the center console was the worst part!
Film looks BLACK and feels like real CF - it comes across as blue in some photos but is BLACK.
It looked great and gave the car an unexpected "lift" - I was impressed.

Actually it's HEXIS CF Wrap, stunning stuff if you want a gloss finish. I haven't tried 3M but have others, this is my choice. Here's an ebay link http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/HEXIS-HEXPress-Carbon-Fibre-Wrap-Vinyl-100mm-x-100mm-/130505144381?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item1e62b6783d

As one whose recently tried can honestly say you did a great job there Doc, attention to detail and PATIENCE!! I challenge you to a GTI rear diffuser. I hoped to do it in ONE wrap then THREE, ended in 5!!! pieces. The pics make it look better than it is IMO. My wife & I give it 7 out of 10. But does the job, may 2K clear coat in near future?
PS how did you join behind the door handles
-
I took the door handles off
Attention to detail and PATIENCE
Having sid that pretty much EVERTHING in work including the brush ended up being coverd in CF that week
I'd be able to do that chin in one I think
I could do a GTD rear diffuser in one but the GTI looks like a pain in the ass

Well shave my legs and call me Grandma!!!
Doc: Now, come, come. Have you covered thingy Doc too? Pictures please. It's the Law.

Never having used carbon fibre before, is that stuff easy to work with?
How do you avoid bubbles / excess if it has to go round curved surfaces? Is it heated on?
Sorry for the questions but you both have done a cracking job and its very impressive.
-
That lip looks the dogs dangle berries mate!
-
Sweet
-
BTW Doc:
I forgot to mention amid all that CF overdose: You wrap brilliantly. Verily, a man of many talents.
-
Looks lush the lip!! Sets it apart :)
Doc: love Mrs Doc's 1er :D always will love them, how does she get on in the snow with rear wheel drive AND auto?!
-

I bought her that then 6 months later I knocked her up so got shut and bought her a really nice freelander 2 that we kept for a year and made a 2k profit on
Bought the GTD when we sold the freelander 2 and she now uses my Disco 3 as her daily driver and I use the GTD, of a weekend the GTD doesn't get used at all really as the Disco is very practical and safe for us when shopping with pram and baby stuff etc
