hi all just found out that my engines a 9a type i thought it was an abf.oh well  ive gox the gearbox for the 9a,but i think its hydrolic gearbox, ive been told to take my 020 gearbox and put it on the 9a engine is this true??? and does anyone or anyone who could help me wire the loom for the 9a into my early golf mk2,my mk2 is with the hazard switch on the dash.
thanks

you can, fit a new clutch kit to match the box (8v or 16v gti) and fit your old flywheel. unless its not a 1.8, if so you'll need a 210mm flywheel to fit over the gti clutch.
can use the hydro box if you like, means fitting cable shifter plus a SEAT abf/tdi hydro->cable clutch kit, plenty info on that.
i can help you with the loom if you want to go ke-jet :)

you'll be wanting to source a straight K jet setup.
much less hasstel than KE jet, whitch in simple terms has a spasticated ecu trying to goven a mecanical injection sytem whitch was a factory botch to make k jet type system work with catalytic converters
