The colour multifunction computer display (9Q4), which is available as an optional extra on most of our models, has been temporarily removed from ordering. This is because of supply restrictions that would significantly delay customer orders.

Just out of curiosity â€“ whatâ€™s the waiting time for a fully speced GTI these days? Iâ€™ve seen 6-7 months mentioned some time ago (pre-tsunami). What's it now?

Ok, so if I want a new one in November 2012 I'd better order it now?

Thinking and ED35 or an R next as I'm only doing 70 miles a day now :wink:

Post by: evo1986 on 07 April 2011, 20:35: Extended lead times on anything that is dsg, bluemotion, and with 2.0 tdi engines. I have never had anything turn up in 12-16 weeks gtd/gti wise. Hey ho........

No, not if my experience is anything to go by. Ordered a GTD 13th Nov and was hoping for April delivery. Factory confirmed acceptance of order 9th Dec and I've now been given build week 25. That's 32 weeks from placing the order to the car being built. All being well, hope to take delivery mid-July. That'll be around 35 weeks from order to getting the car, assuming the build week doesn't move back! :sad:

Post by: noel on 09 April 2011, 08:45: Interesting. I ordered a GTD with DSG in October and added the Colour MFD. I have been given a provisional week build of 24 (June 11). I do think this will slip further though. The only good thing, maybe it will take in the new build year changes at week 22 (I think). Does anyone know about these yet?

I was prepared for a 12-16wk wait but seeing this it will be almost twice that by the look of it. Gutted to say the least. The longest I've waited on a car is 10 months when I ordered my first Impreza way back in '98 (long time ago) and that was torture.
