 Damn...
Took my car for a spin around Newlands Corner, Surrey!! Amazing drive... Had the sunroof down, windows down - so to get the wind in my hair
Anyway... got back and the drivers side windon will not go back up... It is stuck in the down position and cant get it to a garage before Monday.
I have taken the door trim off and tried to manually get it into place... after having a vision of splintering glass shooting into my face I gave up on that.
If anyone has any idea's would be good to hear them
Is this likely to be electrical or a broken motor or something else? Thanks guys

Ok does the switch on that side light up? When you press the switch do you hear any noises/clicks from the motor?
Try wiggling the rubber boot between the door and car body, common place for wires to break. If that don't work take the door card off and try pressing the switch whilst you give the motor some light taps. If all that fails try wiring the motor direct to the battery, and if that fails then the motor has gone!

on mine my motor stopped working but as soon as i loosened the bolts holding it in place it worked again, worth a try??
hope it helps

Yeah if you can hear it click then its most probably jammed, I had the same with my girlfriends AX cos she hadnt used it for months. Stripped it down, gave it a few taps and all was well.

 I have tried moving the rubber case between the door and the body with no joy,
there is no noise from the motor when you press the switch,
it makes no clicking noises... How would I wire the motor direct to the battery.
Thanks guys

I will take the girlfriend out to the car, open the door and then provoke her by saying "she looks fat in that dress"...

first thing to check is that there is power to the motor by disconnecting the connector on the side of the motor
-
  the bloody thing just fixed itself... !!!
Its good news but I spent hours bloody tapping motors, fiddling with wires, removing door trims etc
Maybe its the warm weather... at least I can take the bin liner off the window

I'm going to continue this thread cos i'm having the same problem - except my window is stuck up!

I took the door trim off, rattled the wires in the plastic connector between the door and the body of the car, swopped the switches for the windows in the dash, tapped the window motor....
You can try all of the above!! Hope it helps
