Hi guys.
Major dramas with my MOT this morning at KWIK FIT. Iv got a GT TDI 02 plate, took it in for a mot this morning and it failed on the emmissions test. The tester then examined the turbo and found it to be leaking oil, "from around the turbo area" were his words.
Ok fair enough, I wouldnt b too annoyed if it had happened once since iv had the car, but iv had it just over two years and this will be the second turbo problem ive had with it. There doesnt seem to be any problems with performance that I can tell and theres no excessive smoke coming out the back either, literally just abit of oil around the turbo.
Is this something that happens to everyones pride and joy or am I just the unlucky one here? because im considering get rid of it as its costing a grand a time to get a new one put in.
PLEASE HELP. ADVICE WANTED.

when my turbo went on the fabia vrs, it was 99,000 miles old and been running a remap for over 35k of that. was 1300 to fix, but came with a waranty?
if you have had it done already in the last two years, is it not a waranty repair? are you running it on a cheap remap? do you let it wind down when at the end of a journey?
look in the mk4 forum as above mate, and go from there.
good luck!
