Sorry I am confused as I cant tell whats top and bottom  :embarassed:

My pump as 2 smaller connections and a larger one that has the thermostat fitted inside.

Is the one with the thermostat inside a cold return?

Top is upwards, towards the sun, and bottom is downwards towards the tarmac

One must assume that the pump is in his hand and not attached to an engine
