When i give my vr6 some wellie ive noticed it smoking a bit (grey/black in colour)
Its not the dreaded blue smoke or white so im not that concerned but i want to know if this is common.
I spoke to a mate at work who builds rover V8 engines and he reckons its just running to rich and needs a good tune up but says big engined cars will smoke a bit when flooring um as his looks likes a steam train when he floors his.
Have any other VR6 owners have noticed theres doing this ?
Car still runs sweet and it hasnt affected the performance in any way
?

Mine doesn't do it (yet!), but a mate of mine had an M-plate VR6 that smoked a bit on hard acceleration. It only started doing this at 90, but went on to complete a further 50k trouble-free miles! Think it's quite common on highish mileage VRs - I wouldn't worry about it too much unless the car starts to misbehave in other ways.

I would worry, could be overfuelling, so don't just leave it
Get the emissions checked out, any garage or MOT centre should be able to do it for a few quid.
If it is out of spec then investigate further.
