The 3 outer holes are bolt holes. You need to remove the cooler itself to get to the bolts holding the rest to the block.
-
Cheers Khare. Still abit confused tho. I agree about the bolts, mine are allen ones. The access is blocked by the cooler, so how do I get around that? (I have a feelin ive missed something here?!) :undecided:
-
To remove the cooler you need to remove the oil filter, then there's a big nut, can't remember the size but I think it may be 24mm, could be 32mm though. Remove that then the cooler just slides down the threaded bit where the filter is.

Cheers dude, sometimes I look at the first few posts I ever made both on this and another forum I stopped using a few years ago and I laugh at my responses, most of them sound like a typical 17 year old who reads lots of max power and thinks he knows more than experienced people
i want a meaty tone. K&N is reli good, but i heard it has a flat spot. ppl recommended pipercross. I want good meaty sound and maybe sum performance. Mainly sound tho.

scroll down abotu half way and look for Magnecor HT Leads. *8mm Leads: Blue in colour & original equipment replacement. Designed to improve original ignition system performance on road vehicles using either electronic engine management systems or carburetors.*
this 8mm lead should do.
I want to make it as fast as i possibly can, ive already put a custom cold air feed and a weber 32/34 carb. Im going to put K&N panel filter too soon, but apart from all this, is there anything i can do, any tweeks i can do to make it sound better and also go better and more effeciently? i want to squeeze every BHP possible. Oh btw, im on a very very limited budget, thats why i want tweeks not replacement parts. Example is like cleaning distributor car from all the carbon crap.
That last one is hilarious, back then I wanted to tune my old 1.6 mk2 and I wouldn't budge from that, no matter what was said, I wanted to tune it.
Nowadays I just say "save up for a GTI"

Khare have you got a picture of the pipe with the bit of hose and clip still attached. Would like to see the top edge of that pipe without the hose to see if it has a groove in it.
-
Yes they are ribbed at the end. Its just hidden on that pic by one bit of hose, and one thats covered in coolant residue and crud!
-
I know they have a rib at the end.... Further along a dipped groove in the pipe on the top edge !!
