Title: Question for the AUM boys

Ive had the rocker cover off today along with the two splash guards over the camshafts, made a rookee mistake and whipped them off and didnt take note of the right way back in. had a gander at trusty old northeasts project build and noticed his didnt have the plastic guards on. are they needed?

No, not a must, they just stop oil being splashed up when you open the oil filler cap while the engine is running.
