Title: Things to look for when buying a turbo.
Post by: thatwillis on 28 March 2011, 21:45
Hiya guys

After having my turbo looked at it seems there play of about 3mm. Bit worrying really. I'm looking for a new turbo going for a ko3s as i don't have the cash to do all the mods for a ko4. What things am i looking for to make sure the turbo i get is good? Spindle play, anything else?

Cheers
James

if your getting a new one you might as well get the boost turned up and kill the old one.. yer main things are spindle play and oil seals

make sure there are no cracks in the housing, there will be some play in the KO3s when there is no oil pressure

youll need a forge dv and a new tip, the old diverter valve will last about 5 seconds when your running double the usual pressure
