Title: Second car insurance advice - any help???
Post by: starsky on 28 March 2011, 20:17
Hi, I have just bought a mk3 GTI 8v Anniversary 1997 as a weekend/show car. It has a few subtle mods including 17's, adjustable suspension, cat back stainless exhaust, full window tints and a thatcham cat 1 alarm/immobiliser. I run a mk5 GTI as my main car and have 12 years ncb, live in a rural area and have a garage. I am struggling to get an affordable quote for the mk3 as a second car with very limited mileage.

Has anyonelse had this problem? I have considered day policies but want to have the freedom to use the car when I want for a treat now and again during the summer. I cant seem to get a classic policy because the car is only 14 years old.

If anybody has any ideas or could recommend any insurance provider I would be grateful.

Thanks

When your renewal comes up it might be woth looking at a Multicar policy.

I have one for 5 cars with 3 drivers, works out cheaper than individual policies for me.
