any pointers need a 02a gearbox just not sure what they are on

mk3 16v and vr6 and i'd imagine an ibizia 16v maybe some other stuff as well like corrado 2.0 16v, g60, vr6
Might be best listening to someone else though :p

Corrado G60, 1.8 16v, 2.0 16v
Mk3 Golf TDI, 2.0 16v, NOT VR6 as they only fit VR6's.
Passat 8v, 16v, TDI
Toledo 16v
Would think the old Ibiza Cupra 2.0 16v has one too.

Got a shorter ratio Rado 16v box, Mk3 diesel box (which I'm rocking now), a f*cked Mk3 16v box and a Rado G60 box. Unfortunately, I need them all lol.
They pop up all the time. Breakers are your best bet, ebay can be pricey.

cheers guys im going to go for the 02a g60 box i had a look on ebay and yea a bit pricey . ive got to take the 1 off the car now the 02j so that will raise sum funds towards the g60 one
g60 are hydraulic arnt they ? gotta go from cable to hydraulic thats the next step :sick:

cable to hydraulic is pretty simple once you have a look at a few others beign done

i guess if the box is allready hydraulic ill only have to change the pedal to hydraulic ??? rally pedal box with slave cylinder for easy option ??

02A boxes are all hydro clutch. You can convert the box to cable clutch or convert the car to hydro clutch.

i had a look at the box thats on the car at the minuet the 02j and im sure its hydraulic i cant see no cables on the box except the gear selector ones any ideas??? theres a hydraulic pipe aswell on the top of the box

yeh all the mk4 golf gearbox's are hydraulic, i jsut converted the my mk1 pedal to hydraulic by cutting a hole int he bulkhead bolting the mastercylinder in and then making brakes and so on for it to work correctly and then used the mk4 slave cylinder and clutch line

VR6 box no good as its different bell housing, same goes for V5, R32/36 etc. basically, you need a 4 pot one

whats the best box to go for ? gotta have the 100mm flanges for the conversion drive shafts

its your call, depends what kind of ratios tyou want. the boost boys favour diesel boxes though for the long ratios

thanks for the reply right erm im putting a ko3s and TIP on her shes allready remapped so boost wise im all good i could do with torque !! you got any suggestions ?
ive been offerd a box from vw 02a abf gearbox mk3 16v ??
or if i should go diesel box am i looking for something like off a mk4 tdi ? would that be 02a with the 100mm flanges
