Had my 130 GTTDI since last July and it's been great. It passed the MOT saturday but after leaving the garage (local independant specialist) the brake pedal felt really stiff and had to be pressed very hard to stop. I have had this twice before but it cleared straight away, both times fairly recently.
On returning to the garage they looked and said that the vacuum pump wasn't sucking as much air as it should, rev the engine and the pressure returns and the brake pedal feels normal. On idle he said it should suck hard when putting a finger over the pump but it's not.
I left the car with them and am waiting for a call with price for a new pump. He warned me that it might be costly.
Any ideas if it would be the pump or is it likely to be something else?
Also the car has 105,000 miles and 'normally' goes without fault.
On the plus side it has a full year MOT!
Thanks for looking.

Turns out it was the servo that had pretty much packed up, all back and working fine now.
A pig of a job aparently, and had to remove most of the intake etc.
