Post by: ads1 on 27 March 2011, 19:17
My Indigo blue GT TDI 150 oil burner

Bought end of last August Its got heated leather, cruise control, R32 Xenons, some crazy spec rear seats with built in booster seats that pop up etc

As I got it, all standard low milage unabused.

First was coilovers, black mirror covers, new wheels that needed a refurb, new grille and bumper grilles, smoothed the airbox and fitted some pressed plates.

Before

After

Then had dreaded cam faliure so top end rebuild with forged steel camshaft + new lifters etc, had cambelt and waterpump done, flushed all ports out, decided to replaced headgasket whilst doing the rest, removed sump and checked bottom end bearings, removed and checked turbo, de coked oil pick up pipe/inlet manifold, Allard EGR delete etc etc.....good as new now hopefully

Stubby mirrors now, thought they may be a bit small to start with but they suit it really well.

Polished gloss black bases and covers gone back to blue now, didn't like the carbon.

Little and large

I honestly thought the picture in your signature was a bad photoshop of some absurdly-sized wheels on a Golf4.

Build goes to pieces about halfway down the first page for me.

I'll bet it was faster and far more comfortable with the original wheels on.

Were you not hugged as a child?    Only joking everyone has their own opinions, it doesn't need to be comftable or fast as I have we have another car for that ..... not slow with 320ftlb of torque tho.

I don't like the yellow bits but that's all

Had one if these too that was mapped they are quite nippy. Run out of puff a bit too quick tho that was my only thing I could say bad about it, 3rd and 4th gear were the strongest.

Who cares if it's not comfortable.. We wouldn't modify our cars if that's what we all wanted

Nice car
