I have just had my cab lowered by 40mm using Bilstein gas dampers, and Eibach springs.javascript:void(0);
laugh
This has given me a fantastic drive when I'm with out the Mrs in the car.javascript:void(0);
sad The ride i's to harsh for her and the constant bottoming out puts her teeth on edge.javascript:void(0);
angry
Could i just soften the front by putting normal springs back on with the Bilstein's?javascript:void(0);
cry

Why not just put some cushions on the passenger seat? :)
-
good call
or i could just change the wife
-
Just tell her to put some weight on so her @rse more cushioned. :wink:
-
she has already done that( )( )
I think she has psychic powers!!!
I do have to keep her happy or i will risk losing my toy as it is still her daily run around
I must admit the cab does take a pounding on the country lanes, and on the pot holes we have in Milton Keynes.

I had mine lowered and didn't tell the girlfriend about it :evil: :laugh:
She complained for months that she was getting thrown around like a rag doll :laugh: :laugh: :laugh: When I finally told her I had it lowered she suddenly worked it all out :grin: :rolleyes:
-
just tell her to shut it! its your ride! lol
not sure i would make a good relationship councilor mind! :laugh: :laugh:
to be honest i was told the bilstein set up is the best ride, well less harsh anyway!
if ya change the front springs to standard the shocks wont match the spring height, and it would look a tad odd if you left the rear the same?? :huh:
-
the springs wont do anything.,.. its the shocks which debate how hard/soft the ride is...
id tell her to get the bus personally :wink:
-
So it looks like i need to make a choice
The Cab or the Wife
I don't think i can be with out the love of my life
So the wife will just have to lump it!!!!!!
Who offered the counseling?

The Eibachs you have are probably for a tin top. I had them too and it was just impossible to drive. The coils were binding all the time followed with a loud CLANG or BANG. It was awfull. Both Konis broke after some months too.
If I were you I would get rid of them as they have the incorrect rate of the weight of the cabriolet. Find a brand that has springs specific for the Cab. H&R with Yellow Konis was the best combination I've tried. Bilsteins were ok too as long as they are the short piston ones otherwise the spring will "play" when you are going over pot holes giving you some nasty sounds as well.
Ask me how I know all these..... :angry:
