Title: Removing Revo for PX ??

My gti is going in for PX on Friday with Audi do I need to have my Revo remap removed ? Audi do not know it's mapped btw :o

All I can say is that there are over half a dozen of my old cars running about with quite a few more horsepower hidden away in the ECU than the owners are possibly aware of!  :laugh:

If you want the car to leave you with standard power you've got two options, one is to take it to a REVO agent and ask if they can flash back the original map, which may or may not be possible. Two is just to have it switched back to the 'standard' map via an SPS device.

Option two is quick and easy and won't leave the vehicle in a dubious state of tune for the next owner should he/she have to make an insurance claim. Chances are VW would re-flash the ECU with updated software come service time anyway, thus removing the REVO altogether.

I don't think it matters too much, as Exonian said, when VW get the car, they'll probably just flash the ECU with an update, I think a new update was released recently anyway.
It's pretty hard to tell a car has been mapped through their diagnostic machines, although if they leave it as is, whoever buys it next may think, 'wow, this is a bloody quick car' :P :D haha
