Wanted to update the horrible "wood trim" gear knob so i bought a rubber black one on ebay, got the wooden one off almost no problem however the new gear knob (which should fit) appears to be alot wider round the neck of it and doesnt seem to go on the same way the wooden one does.
I have taken 2 pictures of each gear knob and hopefully somebody can help me sort out this problem.

Mine was exactly the same mate...........I wrapped my gear stick in insulation tape to make it thicker, then the knew knob went on, then put a Jubilee clip round to secure.
Works perfectly, no probs in 4 months at all!!
(No doubt I'll be in for some stick for even suggesting this :embarassed:, but hey, it worked!!)

Thanks for your help guys, was beginning to think foam or glue of some sort could be the answer :) think there could be a small gap between the gaitor and knob but can always glue them together :)
